How to decorate for your Platinum Jubilee Garden Party

The Platinum Jubilee celebrations are taking place across the UK from the 2nd to 5th June 2022. It's a time to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen being our Monarch for 70years, the first British Monarch to do so, which is really an amazing achievement. There will be many events up and down the Country, but if you would like to organise your own Jubilee garden party then here we have a few top tips for decorating.

Our 5 top tips for how to decorate your Jubilee Garden Party

First of all choose your colours. Traditionally we have always decorated in red, white and blue, however for the Platinum Jubilee the official logo is in purple so you can choose either one of these. However, we have chosen to go with red, white and blue this time.
Bunting is a must for any garden party but especially for a Jubilee garden party. To get the best look have bunting of different patterns but in the colour theme, so red, white and blue stripes, solid colours, floral etc. This mix and match of patterns still gives the a Jubilee themed look whilst adding more interest than just Union Jack flags (but you can add these too)
Tablescape. You want your table to look great for your Jubilee garden party so add everything in your themed colours think about a table runner, placemats and coasters. Add accessories in the same colourways such as teapots, serving dishes, cake stands, little bunches of flowers, little vases, old royal mugs etc. Have a hunt around your kitchen cupboards to find anything that can add to your theme. It doesn't all have to match, but the colours need to keep to the theme.
Outdoor Seating. We love deckchairs and directors chairs as these can be so colourful and really give a Jubilee garden party vibe. If you have time you can renovate the chairs changing the slings and fabric parts to the red, white and blue theme. If you don't have time just add cushions.
Outdoor Cushions. Add cushions to your seating to bring the theme together. Again find cushions in the colourways of red, white and blue, they can be solid, stripes or specially made for the celebration.
Think about re-useing and recycling anything that you use.
- First of all use things you already have to re-purpose them for your Jubilee garden party
- If you are buying new items, can you use them again and would they make a good memento.
- If you are buying disposable plates and cups, can you recycle them afterwards
